A car fire on the Great Belt Bridge causes chaos in traffic towards Funen. Early Wednesday evening, traffic towards Funen on the Great Belt Bridge was temporarily stopped due to a car fire, according to the Road Directorate. According to Sund og Bælt, all car traffic towards Funen was briefly closed after the report of the car fire. “In the direction towards Funen, all car traffic is closed due to a breakdown. Delays are expected, “states the post on the social media platform X. The Road Directorate’s traffic map showed that the road was blocked due to an accident, and a vehicle was on fire. The South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police have confirmed the incident to Ekstra Bladet. “It is a vehicle fire. The vehicle is in the emergency lane now, and they are almost done extinguishing it,” the police told the media. While the warning on the Road Directorate’s traffic map has been lifted, there is still slow traffic in the area. The fire department is still on site to ensure that the situation is completely under control.
