Drummer and conductor Claes Antonsen has decided to step down from The Antonelli Orchestra and all other professional activities he is involved in. This decision comes in the wake of the DR documentary “Sexism in the music industry,” which was released earlier this week. In an email to, among others, the festival director at Hansted Live in Svendborg, Lars Aagaard, Claes Antonsen writes: “I can inform you that I have chosen to withdraw completely from The Antonelli Orchestra and from all other activities I am involved in.” Additionally, on Wednesday, Claes Antonsen took to Facebook to publicly apologize to the women he has behaved sexist towards in connection with the production of the TV 2 program “Toppen af poppen.”
