Metallica took over Parken Stadium on Friday night as part of their world tour, and the reception from Denmark’s critics was generally positive. The band, which includes Danish drummer Lars Ulrich, delivered a performance that left its mark on both the audience and the critics. Ekstra Bladet awarded the concert four stars. The reviewer noted that “the stands trembled as Metallica broke through the sound barrier with the devastating opening number ‘Creeping Death’,” and also highlighted that “Hit the Lights” was so intense that the band could barely keep up with themselves. B.T. was equally impressed and also gave four stars. The newspaper described the concert as “an excellent mix of old and new, riffs and chatter, done in impeccable transitions in a sound you could feel all the way into your ear canals, chest, and down into your feet.” While some minor flaws were pointed out, the overall impression seems to be that Metallica once again managed to deliver a memorable experience for their Danish fans.
