Danish Police Warn Drivers of Slippery Roads and Aquaplaning

Funen Police warns drivers: Slippery roads and risk of aquaplaning. Funen Police issued a warning to drivers on Funen in light of the latest weather forecasts from the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI). Heavy rain and local cloudbursts are predicted, which could significantly affect driving conditions. “The rain has now hit Funen. This can lead to reduced visibility and the risk of aquaplaning,” said the police’s official profile on X. They urge drivers to adjust their driving according to the current weather conditions and consider both their own and others’ safety.

Earlier on Friday, DMI issued a warning of heavy rain and local cloudbursts, especially affecting the eastern and southern parts of Jutland, as well as Funen, Zealand and the islands. According to DMI’s duty meteorologist, Mette Zhang, some areas can expect between 25 and 35 mm of rain in just six hours, and locally up to 50 mm in the same period.

The weather warning, marked in yellow on DMI’s map, is valid until Saturday morning at 6 a.m. All road users are encouraged to be extra vigilant and take into account the difficult road conditions.
