Sanne Salomonsen cancels concert due to lost voice; refunds available

Unfortunately, Sanne Salomonsen had to cancel her planned concert at Tivoli Friheden in Aarhus on Saturday evening. According to the amusement park’s website, the cancellation is due to Salomonsen losing her voice and therefore being unable to perform the concert. Tivoli Friheden has announced that due to the short notice, it has not been possible to find a replacement for the evening’s concert, and therefore the concert is canceled. Audience members who have purchased tickets for the concert have the option to get them refunded.

Sanne Salomonsen has several concerts planned throughout the summer, including performances at Sommer Rock in Slagelse on July 5, Lørdagshits at Tivoli in Copenhagen on July 20, and Smukfest on August 7. On this summer tour, she is accompanied by The Antonelli Orchestra.

The orchestra has recently been in the spotlight due to revelations in the DR documentary “Sexism in the music industry.” It emerged that a member of the band had made comments about female artists’ bodies during the filming of the TV 2 program “Toppen af poppen.” After the documentary was released, Claes Antonsen, who was the drummer and musical director of The Antonelli Orchestra, came forward and apologized on Facebook. It was revealed that he was the person with whom the women had had unpleasant experiences.

As a result of the revelations, several artists, including Sanne Salomonsen, have chosen to replace Claes Antonsen as the drummer for this summer’s concerts. “In light of the documentary, we cannot do shows together with Claes Antonsen in the future,” wrote Thomas Børresen, Sanne Salomonsen’s manager, in an email earlier this month.

On June 13, Claes Antonsen announced that he was stepping down from The Antonelli Orchestra.
