The next few days will bring high temperatures: Up to 25 degrees before the weekend brings rain
Denmark can look forward to a warm and sunny start to the week with temperatures between 18 and 23 degrees. According to Jesper Eriksen, the duty meteorologist at the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), we can even expect temperatures up to 25 degrees on Thursday. “Until Thursday, sunscreen will be needed. A high-pressure system over Denmark will bring dry weather and plenty of sunshine,” says Jesper Eriksen. “Some places may start off with clouds in the morning, but the sun will quickly break through, and temperatures will gradually rise.”
Throughout the week, temperatures will reach 25 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday, and locally they could even reach up to 28 degrees. “Thursday looks to be the warmest day of the week,” adds Eriksen. “The summer heat will temporarily dominate Denmark. The high pressure over the country and lack of wind will allow the air to stand still and heat up at ground level, much like a hot plate.”
But the joy of the beautiful weather will not last. “The weather will change again later in the week,” warns Eriksen. Those planning to attend the Roskilde Festival, which starts on June 29, should prepare for cooler weather and rain. “Thursday night or during Friday, a cold front will move across Denmark bringing rain and showers, perhaps even thunder. Here, an umbrella and a warmer sweater will be needed.”
The weekend is expected to bring cooler weather, so outdoor activity plans may need to be adjusted.
