78-year-old revue veteran Lisbet Dahl is currently experiencing health issues and will not be participating in the Tivoli Revue for the time being. The reason for her absence is a leaky heart valve, which has caused breathing problems and shortness of breath. Lisbet Dahl had an artificial heart valve implanted during a bypass operation in 2008, and now this valve is showing signs of problems.
In an interview with the magazine Her og Nu, Lisbet Dahl mentioned that she is doing well under the circumstances. “I walk my dog and do my own shopping, but I must not get out of breath, so I have to take it easy. That’s not possible when you’re on stage, and I’m terribly sorry to have to let down my colleagues,” she said.
Lone Rødbroe has been called in as a substitute for Lisbet Dahl, while the rest of the ensemble consists of Thomas Eje, Rikke Bilde, Rikke Buch Bendtsen, Mikkel Becker Hilgart, and musical director James Price. Lisbet Dahl only managed to perform a handful of shows before having to call in sick. On the day of her sick leave, she showed up at Tivoli and was quickly assessed by a nurse who called an ambulance.
“I am currently undergoing tests to determine whether the heart valve needs to be replaced or if the problem can be solved in a different way. I don’t know anything specific yet, and neither do the doctors, so I have to wait for them to figure out what needs to happen,” Lisbet Dahl told Her og Nu.
In addition to her role on stage, Lisbet Dahl is also a director and artistic director of the Tivoli Revue. Before taking on this role last year, she had been a director and artistic director at the Cirkusrevyen from 1985 to 2022. Shortly before the premiere of her last season at Cirkusrevyen in 2022, she had to take sick leave due to the aftermath of coronavirus. In 2021, she also experienced a period of illness due to stress from a health issue that had drained her strength.
We will follow up on the situation and wish Lisbet Dahl a speedy recovery.
