Former Mayor Winni Grosbøll appointed new director of consumer organization

Former mayor of Bornholm, Winni Grosbøll, has decided to switch her position as director of the Danish Outdoor Council with a new role as director of the Danish Consumer Council Think. This was announced by the interest organization in a press release. Grosbøll, who is 47 years old, will officially start her new position on September 1st.

In the press release, she states that today’s consumers face both many opportunities and challenges when it comes to making good choices. Grosbøll looks forward to starting work on improving consumer conditions in her new role.

Since the beginning of the year, the deputy director of the Danish Consumer Council Think, Esben Grønborg Geist, has been acting director. Grønborg Geist took over the position temporarily after the former director, Mads Reinholdt, became director of the Danish Confederation of Trade Unions. From September 1st, Esben Grønborg Geist will return to his original role as deputy director.

Per Jensen, acting chairman of the Danish Consumer Council Think, describes Winni Grosbøll as a “political capacity” and expresses the board’s conviction that she is the right match for the organization. He looks forward to working with her. Per Jensen himself has a temporary role as chairman, as the former chairman, Anja Philip, stepped down in April after 12 years in the position. A new chairman is expected to be elected after the summer vacation.

The Danish Consumer Council Think works to protect consumer interests, including testing products. The organization, founded in 1947 under the name Danish Housewives Consumer Council, is an independent membership organization with almost 90,000 personal members and 28 member organizations.
