Mastiff is planning to investigate the culture surrounding the production of “Toppen af poppen” from 2015 to 2021. The production company Mastiff has announced that they will initiate an investigation into the working culture during the filming of the TV 2 program “Toppen af poppen” from 2015-2021. This is stated in a written statement from the CEO, Kristian Farcin-Leth, to Mediawatch. Farcin-Leth has also opened up the possibility that the investigation may cover an even longer period if necessary.
The investigation comes in the wake of the DR documentary “Sexism in the music industry,” where singers Katinka Bjerregaard and Mathilde Falch shared their experiences with inappropriate and offensive comments from a member of The Antonelli Orchestra during the filming in 2021. These revelations have prompted TV 2 to request Mastiff for a thorough examination of the working environment on “Toppen af poppen,” which Mastiff has produced for TV 2.
Mastiff was already made aware of problems with a sexist culture during the filming in 2021. According to Kristian Farcin-Leth, this led to the introduction of clear guidelines for handling and preventing offensive behavior. However, it is still unclear who will lead the new investigation and how it will be carried out.
Following the publication of the DR documentary, Claes Antonsen, leader of The Antonelli Orchestra, has apologized for his behavior and announced that he has withdrawn from all activities related to the band.
