DMI (Danish Meteorological Institute) warns of heavy rain and the risk of cloudbursts on Bornholm and several other islands. According to the latest forecasts from DMI, large amounts of rain will fall over Bornholm, while Zealand, Møn, and Lolland-Falster could also be affected. Sunday looks to be wet and gray in large parts of the country, especially on Bornholm, where significant rainfall is expected.
Meteorologist Anesten Devasakayam from DMI states that Bornholm can expect between 30-40 millimeters of rainfall during Sunday. Cloudbursts, defined as at least 15 millimeters of rain in half an hour, are also a possibility. Zealand, Lolland-Falster, and Møn have received a risk warning, as these areas could also experience heavy rain.
The unstable weather is due to a low-pressure system with rain and thunderstorms currently located over France and moving northeast towards Germany and Denmark. Anesten Devasakayam says that Sunday will bring autumn-like conditions throughout the country, although Bornholm is most vulnerable to rain.
Temperatures are expected to be around 15-16 degrees Celsius, which is not exactly summery. The showers will ease off on Sunday evening, but the coming week does not promise significant improvements. We can look forward to a period of unstable and cool weather, with temperatures between 15 and 20 degrees and several fronts of showers, says Anesten Devasakayam.
