During their official visit to Greenland, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine participated in a local race in the town of Qeqertarsuaq. On Sunday, they took part in the Qeqertarsuaq Race, an event kicked off by King Frederik. This was revealed in a post by the Royal House on Instagram.
In the post, the Royal House described how King Frederik and Queen Mary met with the town’s residents during a traditional coffee gathering at the town’s soccer field. Here, King Frederik had the honor of starting the race, in which, among others, Prince Vincent and Princess Josephine participated. The race is open to all residents of the island.
The royal couple is set to visit various parts of Greenland over eight days. Earlier on the same day, the royal couple and their twins sailed to inaugurate a whale microphone at a new sound station operated by the Arctic Station. This sound station will help researchers gain greater insight into the presence of marine mammals in Disko Bay.
