“Novo Nordisk Foundation provided significant support to the University of Copenhagen
The Health Faculty at the University of Copenhagen received considerable financial support from the Novo Nordisk Foundation last year. The total support amounted to over 800 million Danish kroner. Figures from the university reveal that one out of five employees at the faculty were either fully or partially funded by the foundation’s resources, as reported by Altinget, which has obtained insight into these numbers.
In 2023, 1050 employees at the Health Faculty received financial support from the Novo Nordisk Foundation. However, this extensive support has raised concerns among certain critics who believe it could impact research priorities.
Novo Nordisk Foundation is a commercial foundation in Denmark that owns approximately 28 percent of the shares in the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk. The company generates the majority of its revenue from products for the treatment of diabetes and obesity.”
