South African Singer Tyla Cancels Roskilde Festival Performance Unexpectedly

The 22-year-old South African singer Tyla has had to cancel her planned performance at the Roskilde Festival due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The Roskilde Festival announced the news on their official website. Tyla, whose full name is Tyla Laura Seethal, was supposed to perform as one of the headliners on Wednesday. Her cancellation comes as a big disappointment to many fans, as she has achieved international fame over the past year with her hit “Water.” She also received a Grammy award earlier this year for best African music performance.

The festival is now working tirelessly to find a replacement for Tyla. This is not the first time the singer has had to cancel major events. In March, she canceled her world tour on the advice of doctors due to an injury that has plagued her over the past year. On social media, she described her frustration over the cancellation and mentioned how the pain had only worsened, even after consulting specialists.

Roskilde Festival had previously stated that they did not expect her to cancel her performance with them, despite her previous cancellations. So far, Tyla has not commented on this latest cancellation on her social media profiles.

In addition to Tyla, American singer Kali Uchis has also canceled her performance at this year’s festival back in May, reportedly due to scheduling conflicts. Despite these cancellations, festival-goers can still look forward to big names like 21 Savage, Skrillex, Doja Cat, Foo Fighters, and SZA.

Roskilde Festival 2024 takes place from June 29 to July 6. The camping area opened on Saturday, while the festival site opens on Wednesday. Over 130,000 guests are expected to attend the festival during this period.
