Christian Langballe, former member of the Danish Parliament for the Danish People’s Party, has been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor. The 57-year-old politician and priest has received a bleak prognosis indicating that he has less than a year left to live based on statistics.
Langballe, who represented the Danish People’s Party in the Danish Parliament from 2011 to 2019, revealed his illness in an interview with Kristeligt Dagblad. He was called in for a scan on October 10th last year, where doctors delivered the serious news about his condition.
After receiving the diagnosis, Langballe gathered his children and shared the news with them over a bottle of wine. He chose to take the time to openly discuss the situation and talk about important things while there was still time to do so.
Christian Langballe is a theologian and resides in Foulum, east of Viborg. He was not re-elected in the parliamentary election in 2019 and unsuccessfully tried again in 2022.
Our thoughts are with Christian Langballe and his family during this difficult time.
