Region Nordjylland has decided to terminate contracts with the last four tender clinics operated by the Alles Lægehus group due to suspicion of overbilling. In a press release from the region, it is stated that the clinics, located in Brovst, Dronninglund, Frøstrup, and Hurup, serving approximately 12,000 citizens, have been involved in irregularities in billing for patient visits.
RegionsrĂĄdsformand Mads Duedahl (V) stated that the region’s first choice is always practices run by general practitioners under agreements. If this is not possible, regional clinics are the preferred alternative. The decision to terminate the contracts comes after DR’s program “Kontant” earlier this year revealed that Alles Lægehus had repeatedly billed for services that patients claimed they never received. Two former doctors from Alles Lægehus have also stated that extra services were added to bills which they did not perform.
The contracts have not been officially terminated yet, as Alles Lægehus has the opportunity to make their remarks. A final decision will be made at a meeting in the business committee in August. If the committee chooses to terminate the contracts, there will be a six-month notice period.
