Roskilde Festival faces challenging weather this weekend with both rain and strong winds, especially on Saturday. Meteorologist Mette Zhang from Denmark’s Meteorological Institute (DMI) advises festival-goers to secure their tents and tarps extra well to prevent them from flying away. “Saturday will be particularly windy and wet, so it’s a good idea to ensure that tarps are properly fastened,” Zhang says. The weekend will generally offer a mix of sun, clouds, rain, and showers, with varying intensity from Friday to Sunday.
Friday will start with cloudy weather and some showers, which may become heavy later in the day. The temperature is expected to range between 14 and 18 degrees Celsius. Strong gusts of wind and thunder may also occur in the showers, warns the meteorologist.
Saturday morning will be cloudy with a chance of light rain early in the day. The more intense showers are expected to arrive in the afternoon, with a risk of cloudbursts, strong gusts of wind, and thunder. Temperatures will vary between 15 and 24 degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, Sunday looks better than Saturday with weather similar to Friday’s. The showers will be less intense, and temperatures will range between 15 and 20 degrees Celsius.
