TDC (Telecommunication Development Company) is currently facing challenges with 4G services for their customers abroad. Since Friday afternoon, the company has been working intensively to resolve an issue affecting around 15% of their customers who are experiencing difficulties using 4G roaming services overseas. The problem, which has not been resolved as of Saturday afternoon, only affects 4G data and not voice calls, as stated by Christian Fröhlich, press officer at TDC Net.
“The situation affects approximately 20,000 out of our 130,000 roaming customers. There is no clear trend as to which customers are affected. We are working hard to find a solution and hope to have a resolution soon,” says Fröhlich.
The issue has occurred with one of TDC’s roaming partners, and the company is currently working on finding a temporary solution. However, TDC has not been able to provide a specific timeline for when the problem will be resolved.
Earlier on Saturday, TDC suggested that customers could try switching to 5G if they are in an area with 5G coverage and have a compatible device. However, this solution has proven to be ineffective as most foreign 5G networks rely on the 4G network infrastructure, so it may not solve the problem in most cases.
There are no specific countries that are more impacted than others, and TDC continues to work towards getting all customers back on track as quickly as possible.
