The Capital Region is exploring opportunities with purified water for businesses. The Capital Region has launched a new initiative to investigate the possibilities of replacing the use of clean drinking water with purified groundwater in several companies. According to a press release from the region, the purpose is to ensure a more sustainable use of water resources.
“We do not have unlimited water resources, so we need to rethink our consumption,” says Line Ervolder (K), chairman of the Environment and Climate Committee in the Capital Region.
The new study is an expansion of an existing project that the region is already running in collaboration with Gladsaxe Municipality. In this project, the municipality uses purified water from the region’s facility in Bagsværd to flush sewers and clean roads.
“Now we will investigate the other water supply companies we have in the region to see if they can do the same,” says Line Ervolder.
With this initiative, the Capital Region hopes to promote a more efficient and sustainable use of water in the business sector, while reducing the strain on natural water resources.
