A rat has caused a temporary closure of the water park The Reef at the Quality Hotel in Frederikshavn since July 6. Despite diligent efforts from the pest control company Anticimex, the rat has not yet been caught, leading to an extension of the closure until July 29. Director Marianne Bredevang stated to Kanal Frederikshavn that the hotel has been close to catching the rat in the past few days, but without success.
The extensive closure has understandably disappointed many of the hotel’s guests. In the coming week, the hotel expects a significant influx of guests, especially in connection with the football tournament Dana Cup in Hjørring, where around 300 guests daily had been looking forward to using the water park. Bredevang assures, however, that there are many other interesting attractions in North Jutland that guests can enjoy while waiting for the water park to reopen.
