Good news for the many Danes who have longed for summery temperatures and sunshine. According to the Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), the weekend will indeed offer sunny and warm weather, but unfortunately, it won’t last.
Lars Henriksen, the duty meteorologist at DMI, says that Friday morning will bring clear weather with temperatures rising to between 20 and 25 degrees Celsius. This means that both stadium-goers and festival participants at the Øhavet Festival on Ærø can look forward to a lovely day.
And there is even better news for Saturday, where the weather continues in the same summery track. Temperatures will then rise to between 23 and 27 degrees, and the sun will shine from an almost cloudless sky. The evening and night towards Sunday are also expected to be dry.
But on Sunday afternoon and evening, a weather change will occur, with Denmark being hit by rain and showers in several places, with a risk of thunder. This weather change will especially affect the southwestern part of the country and signals a more unstable and cooler weather type in the upcoming week.
According to Lars Henriksen, temperatures next week will range between 15 and 20 degrees, and in some places, they may drop as low as 12 degrees. The wind will come from the south and southwest and can reach strong winds along the West Coast.
So enjoy the sunshine and warm temperatures this weekend because next week the more typical Danish summer weather will return.
