The well-known sexologist and TV host Jakob Olrik has had to declare his company, Go Onlive ApS, bankrupt. The company, established with the ambition to develop online platforms for freelancers, has faced significant financial challenges over the past two years. According to the Maritime and Commercial Court in Copenhagen, the bankruptcy proceedings were initiated on July 8, 2024, following a petition from Olrik himself.
Go Onlive ApS has struggled to generate profits since its inception in 2021. The latest financial statement for 2022 showed a pre-tax loss of 445,093 Danish Kroner, and the company’s equity was negative 586,295 Kroner. A large portion of the company’s assets, over 4 million Kroner, consisted of intangible assets, mainly development projects, the value of which will now be assessed by the bankruptcy estate’s curator.
Among the creditors is the Danish Export and Investment Fund, which had previously granted a loan of two million Kroner to Go Onlive. It is unclear how much of this debt has been repaid, but by the end of 2022, the loan was still fully outstanding.
Jakob Olrik is known for his work in sexology and television, including as the host of the DR2 program “I seng med DR2” (In bed with DR2) and participation in shows like “Zulu Djævleræs” and “Kender du typen?” (Do you know the type?). He has also written about relationships and sex in various media outlets and published books such as “Kvinde, kend din mand” (Woman, know your man) and “Kærlighedens mysterier” (The mysteries of love). Privately, Olrik is engaged to a woman 29 years younger than himself, which has garnered media attention.
