# Murder of 14-Year-Old Girl in Sweden: A Grieving Mother
In the early hours of Tuesday, a 14-year-old girl was found lifeless and visibly injured in an industrial area of Landskrona, Sweden. What was supposed to be a cozy evening at a pajama party ended in tragedy. Her mother received a final loving text message from her daughter: “I’m sorry, mom, for acting out because I was stressed. The 14-year-old girl was found close to the city’s train station around 12:45 AM on Tuesday. Officers at the scene provided first aid, but her life could not be saved, and she was declared dead at the hospital before the night was over.
According to lead investigator Kenth Pehrsson, there is no doubt that the girl was a victim of severe violence, and it is classified as a homicide. The police made several discoveries at the crime scene, but the girl’s identification card was not among them. For a period, her identity was therefore a mystery to the authorities, who initially estimated her age to be between 25 and 35 years.
As part of the investigation, a peer of the victim was arrested and charged with murder and kidnapping on Tuesday. For the grieving mother, though, this is of little significance. “For me, it is already too late. Nothing helps now. My daughter is already dead,” she told TV4.
In a statement to Aftonbladet, the mother revealed that she and her daughter had just been reunited. At the age of five, the girl went into foster care and later into an institution. The plan was for mother and daughter to move into a new apartment together, with furniture for the girl’s room having just been ordered. That plan will now never be realized.
