The Northern Jutland Police (Nordjyllands Politi) have decided to suspend the search for 68-year-old Tommy, who went missing from Frederikshavn on July 17. According to a press release from the police department, the decision was made because there are no longer any apparent leads to follow.
Although the search has now been called off, the police are still urging the public to come forward with any information that may be relevant to the case. Information can still be submitted to the police by calling 114, and the police emphasize that new leads will be pursued should anything arise.
“People are welcome to call us at 114 if they have information significant to the case, and of course, if they see the missing individual, they should contact us immediately,” stated police commissioner Michael Karstenskov from the Northern Jutland Police in the press release.
The police issued a public alert for Tommy on Monday, as both officers and relatives are concerned for his well-being. The last contact with Tommy occurred on Wednesday, July 17, around 6 PM, and his phone was last registered on a cell tower near Hobrogade in Frederikshavn at 7 PM the same day.
This ongoing concern highlights the importance of community involvement in cases of missing persons, and the police continue to seek the public’s assistance in locating Tommy.
