A serious traffic accident has occurred on the E45 motorway in the southbound direction between exit 52 Skanderborg West (Skanderborg V) and exit 53 Skanderborg South (Skanderborg S), resulting in a temporary closure of the motorway. The Southeast Jutland Police (Sydøstjyllands Politi) are on the scene and have communicated the situation via social media platform X.
The police have reported that the motorway is closed due to the incident, and at this time, there is no information regarding when it is expected to reopen. They have not yet provided any further comments about the accident.
Motorists in the area are advised to use alternative routes. The police recommend taking exit 52 and following Skanderborgvej east to Voldvej south, from where drivers can re-enter the motorway at exit 53.
The Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) has also commented on the incident on platform X and expects that traffic will return to normal by late evening. Later reports indicated that a single lane has now been opened for traffic past the accident site.
We will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates with new information as it becomes available.
