Train Accident Claims Life of Five-Year-Old in Denmark

The tragic incident occurred around 8:25 PM at a train station in Eberbach, Germany, when a mother and her son, David, were attempting to cross some railway tracks. The five-year-old boy apparently spotted an oncoming train, and before the mother could react, he was struck by a freight train. The train conductor reportedly tried to brake, but it was to no avail.

In the aftermath of the incident, the local community has laid down teddy bears and candles at the accident site in memory of David.

Currently, there is no indication of a technical failure in the safety barriers that were in place at the station. The police are now investigating the train’s data, and the railway authorities have initiated an inquiry into the accident. Following the investigation, it will be assessed whether new safety measures should be implemented.
