A 47-Year-Old Man Struck by Truck on E45 Dies

On Wednesday evening, a 47-year-old man was rushed to the hospital following a tragic accident on the E45 East Jutland Motorway. Unfortunately, his life could not be saved, and he passed away at Aarhus University Hospital in Skejby.

The accident occurred around 9:22 PM when two vans had pulled over into the emergency lane near the rest area at Ejer Bavnehøj. The 47-year-old man exited his vehicle to address an issue with one of the vans. According to duty officer Torben Wind from the South East Jutland Police (Sydøstjyllands Politi), the man suddenly stepped out onto the first lane, where a truck driver was unable to brake in time, resulting in a severe collision.

The accident will now be further investigated by a vehicle inspector who will assess the speed of the involved vehicles and other technical aspects related to the incident. The police are awaiting the inspector’s report for a detailed understanding of the accident’s precise circumstances.

The motorway was temporarily closed following the accident, but traffic resumed normally by Thursday morning. However, the incident has cast a somber shadow over what are usually calm morning hours on the E45.
