Danish Car Accident Leaves One Dead, Driver’s Detention Extended

**Fatal Accident on Hasle Ringvej: 24-Year-Old Driver Hospitalized, Suspect’s Detention Extended**

*Aarhus, Denmark* – The young driver of a car involved in a fatal accident on Hasle Ringvej in Aarhus remains hospitalized, while a 30-year-old passenger lost their life in the incident. According to the daily report from East Jutland Police (Østjyllands Politi), the 24-year-old man, who was driving the vehicle, was presented in a preliminary court hearing (grundlovsforhør) in absentia on Saturday at 3:30 PM, based on “objective findings” from the crashed car.

The preliminary court hearing resulted in the judge extending the driver’s detention for three days, allowing police additional time for further investigations. The 24-year-old is scheduled to appear in court again by Tuesday, either in person if he is well enough, or again in absentia.

The accident occurred on Saturday morning at 5:08 AM when the car crashed directly into a sound barrier along Hasle Ringvej. While the 30-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, the driver was transported to Aarhus University Hospital in Skejby.

As part of the investigation, a blood sample was taken from the 24-year-old to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol or other substances while driving, which could lead to charges of reckless driving.

So far, the police have not released any additional information about the case and have notified the relatives of the deceased.
