# 16-Year-Old Boy Detained in Connection with Kidnapping Related to Drug Activity
A 16-year-old boy has been detained in relation to the kidnapping of a 26-year-old woman in the Copenhagen area. The case is linked to drug purchases, according to the Copenhagen Police (Københavns Politi).
According to the charges, the woman was held against her will for over 21 hours, from Saturday at 16:26 to Sunday at 13:51. She entered a car driven by a 22-year-old man, who locked the doors and threatened her. Subsequently, she was taken to an apartment in Farum—a suburb located north of Copenhagen—where she was kept captive by the 16-year-old boy, the 22-year-old man, and several other unidentified assailants.
The police report indicates that during her time in the apartment, the woman was threatened with a knife and physically assaulted, with the kidnappers warning her that things would turn badly if she attempted to escape. While the indictment does not specify the exact motive behind the kidnapping, the police have confirmed that it is related to drug activities.
The situation escalated on Sunday afternoon when the woman was found in the apartment in Farum along with the 16-year-old. On Monday, the boy was presented at the Copenhagen City Court (Københavns Byret), where he pleaded not guilty. He is currently remanded in custody until August 22.
The 22-year-old man involved in the case was also detained on Sunday until the same date. The police have yet to disclose how he has responded to the charges.
