# Building Fire in Ringsted: Two Apartments Destroyed, Several Injured by Smoke

Late Sunday evening, a building fire broke out in the southeastern part of Ringsted, Denmark, resulting in significant damage and the evacuation of several residents. The Mid and West Zealand Police (Midt- og Vestsjællands Politi) reported via the social media platform X that the fire, which started around 10:30 PM local time, was extinguished approximately an hour later at 11:30 PM.

During the firefighting efforts, residents from ten apartments were evacuated, and the blaze caused extensive damages. According to duty officer Michael Hymøller from the Mid and West Zealand Police, four individuals suffered from smoke inhalation as a result of the incident. Two apartments were completely destroyed, while four others sustained considerable smoke damage.

“There are two apartments in each level of the buildings involved,” Hymøller stated, emphasizing the severity of the situation. Emergency services will remain on-site for the coming hours to secure the area and assist affected residents.
