Fyn Police are significantly present at the harbor in Lohals, located on the island of Langeland, on Monday morning, where a small area has been evacuated. The police announced on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) that they are currently unable to provide further details but will release more information as soon as they can.
Individuals in the area are being instructed to follow police guidelines. Additionally, the police have initiated a minor evacuation and will contact affected residents directly with guidance.
Fyns Amts Avis, a regional newspaper, reports that an eyewitness observed drones in the air, and that police are heavily armed. A journalist from the newspaper at the scene mentioned that a boat has been deployed to the waters near Lohals Harbor, while a helicopter is hovering over the area.
TV 2 Fyn, another local news outlet, stated that at least ten police vehicles and a bus filled with officers are present. According to the media, fire services are also en route to Lohals, as confirmed by residents in Tåsinge, another island nearby, who reported seeing fire trucks responding with sirens.
Communications advisor Sunniva Pedersen-Reng from Fyn Police was unable to provide additional details regarding the police presence at the harbor.
