Allan Morgan Sentenced to Life for 1981 Murder of Wife

For over four decades, a heinous crime has finally reached its conclusion. Seventy-four-year-old Allan Morgan may have thought he had successfully hidden his dark secret. However, the past tends to catch up with us, and for Allan Morgan, this became a harsh reality when he was sentenced to life in prison for orchestrating the murder of his own wife—a crime that took place 43 years ago.

The story begins in 1981, when Allan Morgan’s then-wife, Carol Morgan, was found murdered in a grocery store in Leighton Buzzard, a town they owned a business in together. Carol had been brutally stabbed to death. The initial theory from the police was that Carol had fallen victim to a burglary that went horribly wrong. On that day, Allan had taken their two children to the cinema, and there was no suspicion directed towards him.

The investigation, however, led to no viable leads, and the case remained unsolved—until now. In 2018, the police decided to reopen the case, which eventually led them to a woman named Jane Bunting. Jane revealed that many years earlier, Allan Morgan had approached her boyfriend in a pub and asked him if he could find someone to kill his wife. Allan reportedly said that he “hated his wife” and that he had a mistress.

Shortly after Carol Morgan’s death, Allan Morgan left Leighton Buzzard and moved with their two children to northern England, where he settled down with his mistress. They have lived there until now, when justice has finally caught up with him, and his dark secret has come to light. Allan Morgan is now set to spend the rest of his life in prison for commissioning the murder of his wife over four decades ago.
