A widespread internet outage has caused significant confusion and disruptions across multiple state IT systems over the past hour. Among the affected entities were the Prime Minister’s Office (Statsministeriet), the Ministry of Finance (Finansministeriet), and the websites of the State IT Agency (Statens IT), all of which experienced downtime.
According to Rasmus Onslev Kremmer, Chief Consultant at the State IT Agency, the issue is currently being resolved: “It appears that it has broadly affected our clients; all of our clients’ websites have been impacted by the outage,” he stated.
Kremmer has indicated that the affected websites can now be accessed again, a status that was confirmed during a check by B.T., a Danish newspaper. There is still no clarity on the exact cause of the outage, but indications suggest that it was not a cyber attack.
The State IT Agency plays a crucial role in managing IT systems for a significant portion of Denmark’s ministries and agencies, making this incident particularly noteworthy.
