The concentration of COVID-19 in wastewater remains at a “medium level,” but shows a slight decrease. This is reported by the Danish State Serum Institute (Statens Serum Institut, SSI) in their latest update on Wednesday. In week 30, there were fewer new cases of COVID-19 reported compared to the previous week. However, the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients has remained stable.

Since week 28, the concentration of COVID-19 in wastewater has consistently been at a “medium level” following an increase from a “low level.” SSI emphasizes that the levels in week 30 are below those recorded in week 29. As the virus is excreted through the stool of some infected individuals, wastewater analysis can provide an indication of the spread of the virus.

Typical symptoms of COVID-19 include fever, dry cough, headaches, muscle pain, sore throat, nausea, and fatigue.
