On Tuesday evening, police were alerted by a citizen who was threatened with an object resembling a firearm. The response from the Southeast Jutland Police (Sydøstjyllands Politi) was immediate, and at 7:00 PM local time, officers attempted to stop a vehicle in Filskov, located in Billund Municipality. However, the driver refused to stop, prompting the police to fire warning shots. The fleeing vehicle was stopped shortly afterward, and two individuals were arrested: a 26-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both from Billund Municipality. Upon arrest, police discovered a soft gun — a replica firearm typically made of plastic and often used for recreational purposes.
Police Commissioner Brian Kristiansen emphasized the seriousness of situations involving threats with weapons. “Reports of firearm-like objects are taken very seriously,” he stated.
The 26-year-old man has been charged with threats to life, while the 38-year-old woman faces charges for driving under the influence of drugs and for violating knife laws. Police assessed that there was no basis for a preliminary examination. Fortunately, no injuries occurred during the incident.
