Stine Bosse has announced her resignation from her position on the board of the Norwegian bank DNB, a decision she has recently made public. The current Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for the Moderates (Moderaterne) has stated that she will focus on her political work, thereby eliminating any doubts about her dedication to the Danish electorate.
Bosse herself shared the news on LinkedIn, emphasizing that her decision was made to ensure there are no questions about her loyalty to those who voted for her in parliamentary elections. Although her resignation was not planned until the formal expiration of her term at DNB in the spring of 2025, criticism from colleagues in the European Parliament may have expedited the process.
Recently, both Kira Marie Peter-Hansen from the Socialist People’s Party (Socialistisk Folkeparti, SF) and Anders Vistisen from the Danish People’s Party (Dansk Folkeparti, DF) have publicly expressed concerns about Bosse continuing her role at DNB while also undertaking her parliamentary duties. Peter-Hansen pointed out the general problem of politicians holding paid positions in companies that may engage in lobbying activities.
Therefore, the decision to step down from her board duties has been made in light of both personal considerations regarding her political commitment and external pressure from her colleagues in the European Parliament. Bosse hopes that her resignation will clarify any doubts about her complete dedication to her role as an elected representative in the European Parliament.
