A 16-year-old Swedish boy was arrested on Wednesday evening in Nørrebro, a district in Copenhagen, following reports of gunfire at Blågårds Plads, a popular square in the area. According to duty officer Jonathan Wald from the Copenhagen Police (Københavns Politi), shots were fired, leading to a significant police presence in the vicinity.
The police received the report at 8:59 PM, and they later confirmed that no one was injured in the incident. The duty officer stated that, at this time, there are no additional suspects in the case; however, the police are conducting a broad investigation into the incident, including a possible gang connection. “We do not rule out that it may be gang-related,” Jonathan Wald stated.
The young boy, who was not previously known to the police, is scheduled to appear before the Duty Judge (Dommervagten) at the Copenhagen City Court (Københavns Byret) on Thursday. The exact time of the court appearance has not yet been announced. As of 10:45 PM on Wednesday, the police had no further information.
