A 17-year-old Swedish boy has been remanded in custody for four weeks in connection with a shooting incident in Kolding, Denmark, where a man was shot in the leg on Wednesday. This information was provided by the Southeast Jutland Police (Sydøstjyllands Politi) in an update posted on the social media platform X.
According to the police statement, the 17-year-old was detained following a preliminary hearing held behind closed doors. Authorities have not disclosed how the young man responds to the charges or whether he has chosen to appeal the detention order.
In connection with the same case, a 37-year-old Danish woman has also been arrested. It remains unclear whether the police will seek to remand her in custody as well.
The Southeast Jutland Police are additionally searching for a third suspect and have urged this individual to come forward. The police have stated that they are aware of the person’s identity.
On Wednesday afternoon, the police issued a call for information regarding two masked individuals seen riding a men’s and a women’s electric bicycle in the area around Vejrupsgade, where the shooting occurred at approximately 10:30 AM. Surveillance footage shows that the two individuals were present in the area in the hours leading up to the shooting.
