19-Year-Old Faces Charges for Violent Robberies in Denmark

A 19-year-old man is facing charges related to a series of violent robberies that occurred on the same night in April, alongside several other offenses. According to the charges, which the Næstved District Court (Næstved Byret) will address on Friday, the young man is not only accused of physical violence but also of making threats toward the police during his arrest.

The incidents in Haslev began when he attacked two men in a public area. The first victim suffered nine punches and additional kicks after attempting to push the assailant away. This victim was robbed of his jacket, which contained a mobile phone, 600 kroner (approximately 80 USD at a rough exchange rate), and a set of keys. Prior to this, the same assailant had attempted to rob another man by asking for money or cigarettes. When this latter victim refused, he was struck with a punch before the robber fled the scene.

During his arrest, the 19-year-old actively resisted and made threats against the police. He tried to break free and physically resisted the officers. The trial will also address charges of money laundering, as he allegedly received 10,654 kroner in March, funds that stemmed from a criminal act, deposited into his bank account.

This individual has a prior criminal record for violence, and during Friday’s court session, it is anticipated that he will plead guilty to all six charges presented by the prosecution.
