A 31-year-old man from Copenhagen, previously convicted of violence, has received a new sentence for serious crimes, including aggravated assault and a hate crime. During Pride celebrations on August 19 of last year, he threatened an individual due to their sexual orientation while holding a hammer. He made threatening remarks such as “I’ll smash you,” “you faggot,” and “you sissy.” The incident took place on Magistervej in the northwestern district of Copenhagen, where he also threatened another person, telling them, “You should find somewhere else to live if you don’t want to get shot.”
The Frederiksberg Court acquitted the man of violating weapons legislation, but he was found guilty of two other violent offenses committed in the early hours of January 9, 2023. Initially, he assaulted an individual outside Viggos Bar, located at Frederiksborgvej 86, where he delivered two slaps, punched, and kicked the victim who was on the ground. Later that same night at Nørrebro Station, he struck another person in the head with a punch.
For these actions, he was sentenced to nine months of unconditional imprisonment and was also issued a nightlife ban, preventing him from engaging in nightlife activities for the next 12 months.
