On Friday, a 25-year-old Danish man and a 31-year-old Danish woman were remanded in custody for 24 days for their alleged involvement in an attempted murder at Blågårds Plads in Nørrebro, Copenhagen. According to police prosecutors on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the couple was presented in the Copenhagen City Court at 1 PM. The 25-year-old man appeared calm, while the woman was visibly emotional and wept during the proceedings. Both individuals deny the charges.
The shooting incident occurred on Wednesday evening around 9 PM, but fortunately, no one was injured. Shortly after the event, a 16-year-old Swedish boy was arrested and presented in court on Thursday. He faces charges of attempted murder and possession of two different firearms, including a 9 mm Glock pistol.
The couple presented in court on Friday also faces charges related to weapon possession. According to the indictment, they allegedly assisted the 16-year-old in entering Denmark at the end of July. The prosecution requested closed court proceedings for the further investigation of the case, and this request was granted by the judge, along with a gag order preventing the publication of names. This means that further details will not be made public.
The man chose to provide a statement before the court’s closure, but it remains unclear whether the woman will follow suit. The 16-year-old boy also pleads not guilty and has already been held in custody for 27 days in a secure psychiatric unit.
