A 44-year-old woman is in stable condition after being hit by a car during a car meet at Dyrskuepladsen (the Dyrskue Grounds) in Roskilde, Denmark, on Saturday evening. The incident occurred on Saturday afternoon when a 28-year-old man drove into the woman.
According to the Mid and West Zealand Police (Midt- og Vestsjællands Politi), the man was under the influence of drugs at the time of the accident. Duty Officer Lars Galasz reported that a drug test conducted at the scene revealed intoxicating substances in the man’s system, which resulted in his arrest and subsequent charges. The brief arrest was aimed at securing a blood sample for further testing.
Emergency services received the report of the accident at 5 PM, after the man attempted to make a U-turn on a grassy field without noticing that the woman was lying down sunbathing. The collision struck the woman across her abdomen, resulting in her being airlifted to Rigshospitalet (Copenhagen University Hospital) by a medical helicopter. She was conscious during transport.
Lars Galasz stated that the woman sustained a punctured lung and bleeding in her liver, but she is reported to be in stable condition while still hospitalized.
