A 40-year-old man has been remanded in custody for four weeks following an incident involving serious violence and unlawful confinement against a 20-year-old man in Skals, Denmark. According to the Central and Western Jutland Police (Midt- og Vestjyllands Politi), the victim reported the incident to the police on Saturday evening at 9:18 PM, detailing events that had occurred earlier that day.
The court in Viborg ruled on Sunday morning that the 40-year-old man should remain in custody while the investigation continues. Police duty officer Anders Boye Hansen confirmed that the man is charged with both serious violence and unlawful confinement. It has not yet been disclosed how the accused man responds to the charges.
The incident took place in Skals, a small town located north of Viborg. According to the police, the younger man had been subjected to punches and kicks to his body and face. The duty officer assessed that the incident may be rooted in a conflict within drug subcultures. The young man was unlawfully confined for three to four hours before he was able to contact the police. He was subsequently hospitalized but has since been discharged and is reported to be out of danger. The other men involved in the violent episode are still at large.
