On Sunday afternoon, a fire broke out in an apartment in Esbjerg, Denmark, resulting in two individuals being transported to the emergency room. According to the South and Southern Jutland Police (Syd- og Sønderjyllands Politi), the fire is believed to have originated from a 48-volt battery that was charging and subsequently ignited the blaze. Duty officer Eli Gejsing explained that the battery is likely the source of the flames.
The fire led to two occupants of the apartment suffering burns to their feet, requiring medical treatment. The extent of their injuries is currently unknown and will be assessed further at the hospital. Although the fire was quickly extinguished, the apartment sustained significant damage, rendering it uninhabitable at this time.
Eli Gejsing stated that the police will now initiate a more thorough investigation to clarify the exact circumstances surrounding the outbreak of the fire. The situation is being closely monitored, and further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
