A former Danish doctor admitted to multiple sexual assaults against his two daughters at the Hillerød Court on Tuesday. The case is attracting international attention as it has led to several arrests in other countries. During the initial proceedings, the prosecutor stated that the man initially resisted the police investigation but later chose to cooperate. This cooperation resulted in him revealing the existence of an international pedophile network of which he was a part.

As a consequence, the police were able to inform authorities in France, Australia, England, Scotland, and the United States, leading to the arrest of others who had also abused their children. The man faces 97 charges, primarily related to serious assaults, incest, and violations of modesty laws. Although he has admitted to many of the offenses, he denies a significant portion of the rape accusations.

Following his arrest in December 2022, a search of his home uncovered approximately 2,000 videos and images of children. The Danish National Cyber Crime Centre (NC3) initially tracked the man down through a report from British authorities, who had discovered illegal video material shared on the encrypted messaging app Wickr. The material indicated that the content involved self-production.

This report led Danish police to the man’s residence on December 4, 2022, where he initially attempted to prevent them from accessing crucial evidence on a desktop computer. Throughout the trial, the judge has decided to keep the proceedings closed during the man’s testimony, meaning that the public will receive limited information in order to protect the identities of the children involved. The case is scheduled to last for five days.
