Dramatic Events Unfold in Frederiksberg: Shooting Leaves One Injured
On Monday evening, dramatic scenes unfolded in Frederiksberg, a district in Copenhagen, where a shooting incident turned the area upside down. An 18-year-old man was hit by a projectile between 5 PM and 6 PM, and shortly thereafter, the Copenhagen Police (Københavns Politi) announced that they had arrested a suspected perpetrator.
The area was buzzing with police activity as crime scene investigators, police dogs, and numerous officers meticulously examined the scene of the incident. Several cordons were set up, and curious residents witnessed the police’s work. Among those interviewed, a witness, who preferred to remain anonymous, played a crucial role in the moments immediately following the shooting.
The witness, who shared his experiences earlier in the evening, reported that he was among the first to assist the victim. After hearing multiple gunshots and witnessing the ensuing chaos, he chose to move toward the incident rather than away from it. Inside a nearby jewelry store, he found the 18-year-old lying injured.
In his account, the witness described how he immediately began administering first aid by applying pressure to the victim’s gunshot wound. Shortly thereafter, he received assistance from a civilian guard who also arrived quickly at the scene. According to the Copenhagen Police, the young man is now out of life-threatening danger and in stable condition.
Authorities have yet to clarify the exact circumstances leading to the shooting or the possible motive behind it. Duty Officer Lasse Michelsen stated that the investigation is still ongoing and that it is too early to draw any conclusions. When asked about a possible gang-related motive, the response indicated that nothing could be ruled out at this stage.
The investigation continues while the Frederiksberg area slowly returns to its usual calm, albeit with a heightened awareness among those affected by the incident.
