Train services on the Coastal Line between Copenhagen and Helsingør were significantly impacted by a signal failure on Tuesday morning, resulting in numerous cancellations. The section between Copenhagen Central Station (Københavns Hovedbanegård) and Helsingør experienced considerable disruptions due to the issue. However, by mid-morning, regular service was restored after Banedanmark, the Danish railway infrastructure management company, resolved the signal problem near Humlebæk. This was confirmed by P4 Traffic, a traffic reporting service, through an update on their social media profile.
The situation highlights the reliance of train operations on well-functioning signaling systems and the ability of Banedanmark to respond quickly to unexpected technical challenges.
