Two men have been arrested in Sweden in connection with a possible explosion on Østerbro, a neighborhood in Copenhagen. The Copenhagen Police confirmed the arrests in a statement on X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday evening. The arrests occurred following a report that an unknown object was thrown into the Solkiosk, which resulted in an explosion.

Bomb technicians from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) were quickly dispatched to the scene to investigate and manage the situation. At 10:15 PM, the police issued an update confirming that the two suspects had been apprehended in Sweden. The investigation at the crime scene is ongoing, according to the police.

Duty Officer Jesper Frandsen from the Copenhagen Police stated earlier in the evening that no one was injured in connection with the incident. Images from the crime scene showed officers and bomb technicians examining the kiosk.

The Capital Region’s Emergency Services reported earlier in the evening about smoke developing from the kiosk. The police have not yet disclosed the nationality of the presumed perpetrators.

Earlier on Tuesday, a 17-year-old Swedish boy was presented in a preliminary hearing at the Frederiksberg Court, charged with attempted murder following a shooting in which an 18-year-old was hit by a single bullet. This marked the third time in a week that a Swedish teenager had been charged with attempted murder in Denmark.
