A fire in a truck has led to the closure of the West Motorway (Vestmotorvejen) near Svenstrup, heading toward Funen (Fyn). This information has been shared by the South Zealand and Lolland-Falster Police (Sydsjællands og Lolland-Falsters Politi) via the social media platform X. The motorway is blocked off between exits 41 and 42, and drivers are advised to seek alternative routes to continue their journeys.
The police have not provided details on when the motorway is expected to reopen or the precise cause of the truck fire. However, the Danish Road Directorate (Vejdirektoratet) has indicated that they anticipate the motorway will be reopened “during the evening.”
The West Motorway, which stretches from Ølby near Køge to the Great Belt Bridge (Storebæltsbroen), is a crucial transportation route in Zealand (Sjælland).
