A 38-year-old man from Aalborg, Denmark, was extradited to Denmark on Wednesday evening after being arrested in Morocco since January. He is accused of being involved in the smuggling and sale of approximately 50 kilograms of amphetamines.
The National Special Crime Unit (NSK – National enhed for Særlig Kriminalitet) confirmed on Thursday morning that the suspect is now in Denmark and will appear for a preliminary hearing later in the day at the Aalborg Court (Retten i Aalborg). The prosecution is expected to request that the hearing be held behind closed doors, and as a result, the NSK has chosen not to disclose further information about the case.
The man had previously been internationally wanted and was detained in absentia.
