Copenhagen Police Investigate Fatal Shooting of 43-Year-Old Man

Copenhagen Police Continue Investigation into Fatal Shooting

Copenhagen Police are actively working to clarify the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a 43-year-old man on Hans Tavsens Gade in Copenhagen on Thursday. According to Deputy Police Inspector Lasse Michelsen, further clarification of the sequence of events is still needed. “We do not have all the details yet and cannot say anything definitive about what has transpired,” he stated.

No arrests have been made in connection with the murder, which also left a 42-year-old woman with gunshot wounds. Authorities believe that the woman was an innocent bystander. “The deceased is known to the police, but we cannot disclose any further information at this time,” Lasse Michelsen added. Several media outlets speculate that the deceased had previously been convicted of murder in Copenhagen several years ago, but police have declined to comment on this information.

The investigation has been intense since the event on Thursday, with police operations ongoing at the crime scene throughout the night. The area has since been reopened, and officers have conducted technical examinations and interviews. “We have been working with video interviews and physical evidence, and we have spoken with people in the area,” the deputy inspector explained.

Police have a description of a suspect, identified as a person wearing dark clothing with dark skin, who was seen riding away towards Griffenfeldtsgade. “We urge witnesses to contact us with any information they may have seen or heard,” concluded Lasse Michelsen.

For those unfamiliar with Danish terms, “gade” translates to “street” in English, and “København” is the Danish name for Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark.
